Key Figures

"Julian Quintana"

Born and raised in La Puebla.

He started building lowriders in 1964. 

 

His first lowrider was a 1948 Chevy

dropped with lowering blocks

and rolling baby moon hub caps.

 

At the age of 19, he gathered material together and upholstered his first car. Sombrillo Upholstry was established in 1972.  Julian's work is mastered into thousands of Norhtern New Mexico's finest cars.

 

Julian was the founder of "Los Amigos Car Club" in 1980.

 

Memorable times were on Sundays filling up the JW Owens parking lot with custom cars. Cruising Riverside Drive was heavy all through the 1970's and 1980's. 

 

Julian can be found on various news paper articles, magazines, books, and posters. He has received a lifetime of awards for his great upholstery works and his beautiful cars. He has dedicated many years of his life to helping the community and is still actively involved in serving the Valley of Espanola.

 

He is a Corvette Club memeber and Lowrider for life.
